Diploma in Thai Massage

Often referred to as lazy yoga, the thai therapist applies an assisted series of stretches to the client `s body in a controlled and skilled manner.

After the stretch, the muscle will lengthen and will relax and feel more pliable. During a thai massage, the client is first put into a posture and stretched, the posture is then released slightly and then taken further to the limit, this increases the range of movement of the joints and also makes the muscle stronger and toned.

According to thai philosophy, the body is made up of a network of energy lines called Prana Nadis and there are said to be 72.000 of these lines in the body. Thai massage concentrates on 10 of these lines and are referred to as Sin. Apart from stretching the practitioner will also stimulate the points along these sen and so disperse any blocked energy. The practitioner will use his thumbs, fingers, hands, elbows, feet to open up and balance out the sen.

Thai massage is a spiritual practice with close links to Buddhism and yoga and was often practiced in Temples. It is a powerful, dynamic and deeply healing treatment lasting for 2 hours

Applications are on a first come first served basis and are subject to availability. Course applications close on the 2nd of September.
